Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Stonehaven Folk Club teamed up with Hands Up for Trad and donated £5000 to launch this fund to provide grants of £250 to help towards living expenses of Folk artists and support personnel severely affected by the Covid-19 crisis. With donations from other clubs and the public the fund has topped £18,000 in March with more than fifty musicians and support personnel helped out to date.
Although the end may finally be in sight , the crisis has not gone away yet, and we are continuing to fundraise. March 26th 2021 will be the latest fund-raising effort to help boost the fund. Any funds raised will help pay the artists who perform on the night and enable more grants to be paid out.
The concert will be streamed Live on Facebook and YouTube from 7:30pm. Just search Hands up for Trad on either platform and you will easily find the free to view concert The concert will feature a top line up with performance from Siobhan Miller and Euan Burton, Emily Smith and Jamie McClennan, Adam Sutherland and John Somerville, Claire Mann & Aaron Jones, Hannah Rarity, Michael Biggins, Alan Reid, and Anna Massie!
If you are both willing AND able to help support folk artists and support staff whilst they cannot work during the pandemic, a donation to the fund will be much appreciated!!
