Story
HELP US BUILD THE NEXT CHAPTER OF FOLLIFOOT CRICKET CLUB!
In 2026, Follifoot Cricket Club celebrates 180 years at the heart of our village. Founded in 1846, generations of players, families, volunteers and supporters have kept cricket thriving at our beautiful Bullring ground for almost two centuries.
Our anniversary is a chance to celebrate that history, but more importantly, to invest in what comes next.
We run two senior teams and a growing junior section for boys and girls from age five upwards, with several juniors already progressing into senior cricket.
From 2027, we begin an exciting new chapter in the Yorkshire Premier League North after more than 60 years in the Airedale & Wharfedale Senior Cricket League.
It is a major step forward for the Club — but our facilities now need to keep pace with our ambitions.
We are raising funds for:
- new and improved practice facilities
- new sight screens and essential ground improvements
- better facilities for our junior section
- improved provision for girls’ and women’s cricket
- and, longer term, a new pavilion with modern changing facilities and flexible community space.
These are ambitious plans, but they are vital if Follifoot is to continue growing and thriving for future generations.
CELEBRATING 180 YEARS
On Sunday 16 August 2026, we will mark our anniversary with a special match between a Follifoot XI and a Former Yorkshire XI, alongside live music, food and refreshments, family entertainment and an exhibition celebrating the Club’s history.
Admission is free, because we want the whole community to share in the occasion.
Instead, we are asking anyone who values the Club — players, parents, former players, village residents, supporters and friends — to consider making a donation towards its future.
Every donation makes a difference; whether it is £10, £25, £50, £100 or more, each contribution will help us improve the Club for the next generation.
We have inherited something very special.
Our ambition is simple: to leave Follifoot Cricket Club stronger than we found it.
Thank you for your support in helping us to write this next chapter.
