“We have to cross everything to hope that this show has a fruitful future life beyond this run. Completely unmissable”. West End Best Friend
After its short, acclaimed run at Soho Theatre, the fully BSL-led hip-hop gig theatre show, Follow the Signs, is back for a three-week run at Soho Theatre followed by a regional tour to Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol, Leeds Playhouse and HOME Manchester. Alongside the run, we're launching an extensive community outreach initiative involving 14 diverse community groups and schools across Bristol, Leeds and Manchester running workshops, Q&As and offering discounted tickets to the show.
We need your help to make this final push!
“You will be hard pressed to find a show as moving as this one, with blazing performances across the board. It is definitive proof that we need many more stories exploring the themes that Fonseca so charismatically raises.” Arifa Akbar, The Guardian
As Fuse Theatre we are committed to staging stories by and for Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences and artists. We aim to foster change in the sector and help theatres better engage and support Deaf audiences and artists.
“This production is poetic and vibrant, marrying hearing and sign language in a beautiful collision that should be encouraged. It embodies language in every possible sense of the word. This beautiful, challenging, uplifting show is absolutely worth seeing.” Everything Theatre
We want Follow the Signs to celebrate the diversity among England's 11 million Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
“Representation of Black Deaf artists is still nowhere near what it should be [...] Chris Fonseca’s story is vital and can hopefully inspire more Global Majority Deaf performers” Paula Garfield, Artistic Director of Deafinitely Theatre.
