In Scotland one is seven adults are now defined as living in relative poverty. In Glasgow over 36,000 children are estimated to be living in poverty.

Crookston Community Group is committed to helping the impoverished people of Glasgow, focusing on food aid and helping the vulnerable, both in our community base and through door-to-door deliveries. We currently deliver food from one volunteer van, driven by Tariq (our Secretary, HR Administrator and key volunteer) and struggle to deliver the quantities we need to support the people we work with. We have also begun supplying furniture to those who need it, especially during the rehoming process, however our current van is not big enough to carry any large amounts of goods.

We are running this campaign in order to raise funds for a dedicated food & furniture delivery van, which would help us give aid to over double the amount of people we currently support. We support on average 500 people a week and achieve that solely through volunteer efforts and without a dedicated van - this money would help us purchase a van and recruit a driver to our team.
