We are a local stage school - Footlights Tameside! We will be having a sponsored sleepover inside Hyde Festival Theatre on April 26th in a bid to raise £1,000 to support theatre itself. There is a spooky element to this fundraiser as the theatre is claimed to be haunted with many sightings over the years!

The theatre has a long history, of providing entertainment to the fair people of Tameisde.

Originally the Alexandra Picturehouse which open 1903 it was not transformed into the theatre it today until 1952.

Since then it as been a staple heart of the community and played host to many local theatre groups.

The theatre relies entirely on the goodwill of volunteers to run and has a dedicated committee who throw everything they can to continue to make the theatre a place of magic.

The money raised will help us not only cover costs for our show in July but go towards the maintenance costs of keeping the theatre going.
