Story
In memory of my beautiful daughter Courtney - Myself, family and friends will take on the challenge of completing the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K on the 29th March 'For Court'.
At three weeks old Courtney was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a life changing illness which brought with it daily physio sessions, nebulising and medication. Court endured numerous hospital visits and stays but never let anything get in her way or hold her back, she never moaned or felt sorry for herself. No matter what she was going through Courtney always put others first and was a very selfless and giving person.
Although her condition affected her life, Courtney never wanted to be defined by Cystic Fibrosis and therefore lived her life to the full. Her life, short though it was, touched the hearts of so many people. She brought sunshine, sparkle and sass wherever she was.
Family meant the world to Court and she was blessed to have such a loving and supporting family who would do anything for her, even run 10 kilometres!!! It was this love that strengthened and sustained her when others in her situation could easily have given up.
Courtney also benefited from the support of an amazing medical team and charities such as the Better Life Appeal. It is for that reason we are raising money to help others who are living with Cystic Fibrosis.
The Cystic Fibrosis unit at Llandough hospital currently provides specialist CF care to over 280 adult patients from across Wales. It is the only CF centre in Wales and are continually striving to meet the current and future needs of the patients in their care. The centre aims to provide its patients with the best possible care, support, advice and encouragement to meet the needs of each individual and their families who are affected by this life-long disease. The unit is currently undergoing redevelopment and the Better Life Appeal was launched to raise funds to assist the expansion.
We thank you in advance for your support 'For Court'.
