❤️🎣 LEARN FOR PETE’S SAKE – CPR & AED TRAINING FOR ANGLERS 🎣❤️
Following the heartbreaking events of this weekend, and with the blessing of Pete Caton’s family, I’d like to announce an initiative that I hope can create something positive from an incredibly difficult situation.
Learn For Pete’s Sake.
The idea is simple.
To get as many anglers as possible who fish matches, fisheries and remote locations equipped with the skills and confidence to perform CPR and use an AED should the worst ever happen on the bank.
When an emergency happens in a remote location, the people already there may be the ones who have to act while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
Knowing what to do could make all the difference.
Over the coming months, we’ll be running our first CPR & AED training sessions at:
🎣 Packington Somers – Golf Club Function Room
🎣 Tunnel Barn Farm
🎣 Barston Lakes
Each session will last approximately 2 hours and will specifically focus on practical CPR and the use of an AED.
There will be 12 places available per session, allowing everyone attending the opportunity to get involved and learn these potentially lifesaving skills.
A massive thank you to Nigel Harrhy, Sarah Underwood and the team at Packington/Stonebridge for supporting the initiative and generously donating facilities for the training. ❤️
The training will be funded through donations made to our JustGiving page, with the aim of making these sessions accessible and getting this knowledge onto as many banks as possible and delivered by the British Red Cross.
And this is only the beginning.
My aim is to take Learn For Pete’s Sake to fisheries across the Midlands and beyond, creating a network of anglers who know what to do if somebody suddenly needs their help.
If these sessions result in just one life being saved on the bank, then every bit of effort that goes into this will have been worth it.
Please share this with your fishing clubs, match groups, fisheries and fellow anglers. The more people on the bank who know CPR and how to use an AED, the better.
❤️ For Pete’s sake… learn CPR. ❤️
