    Story

    What we do

Scrubs are being used more than ever in hospitals, care homes and hospices, they are having to be cleaned more frequently and kept separate from nurses dealing with Covid-19 patients. There is an absolutely enormous need for scrubs, laundry bags, hats and headbands currently in the NHS, they really are desperate. An amazing initiative was raised calling all local sewers in areas across England to fill the requirement and help our beloved NHS at this stressful time! 'For The Love Of Scrubs - Our NHS Needs You'

We created this sub-group of the national campaign and in just over 6 weeks we have gained more than 900 members of wonderful sewers from Stamford, Lincs/Rutland and the surrounding areas, all who have been working so hard, volunteering their time freely, making thousands of garments for our health care heroes.

We have been so overwhelmed by the support we have received, from fabric and thread to cash donations, this is what has kept our group going and growing – we have been able to help more people than we imagined and are extremely grateful to everyone for this.

Please see below updates on where we have supplied garments as well as thanks to those who have supported us.

    Why we need your help

Unfortunately, the demand for garments is still high, we are receiving requests from health care providers every day, most recently newly receiving requests from local educational facilities which currently face the prospect of returning. We have volunteers ready to do their thing, however we need to keep fundraising in order to purchase necessary materials, such as fabric, thread and tape, to keep us producing and providing to those who need it.

What your donation can buy (approximate):

£10 - fabric and tape to make a full set of scrubs, with drawstring waistband a hat and a bag.

    £20 - fabric to make 3 – 5 full sets of scrubs.

£50 – fabric to make 8-11 full sets of scrubs.

£100 - fabric to make 16-22 sets of scrubs.

We are determined to keep playing our part in helping stop the spread of Covid-19 as well as supporting our community in these difficult and unknown times - we are not going to stop until this is over.

Please give anything you can, no matter what size the donation, it will help and it will make a difference.
