Story
Ceri saw her GP for extreme tiredness and eventually tests showed a growth in her bowel. Biopsies were taken. Whilst waiting for the results, Ceri was rushed to hospital in severe pain with blood clots in her lungs.
In hospital Ceri was told the biopsies confirmed she has advanced bowel cancer which has spread. Devastatingly, the cancer is inoperable unless chemotherapy shrinks it. Ceri started the gruelling chemo but sadly she has now suffered a major setback requiring major emergency surgery which means that continuing chemo is on hold until she recovers.
Ceri is just 38 and mum to 2 beautiful daughters, the youngest aged 5. We are very worried about the future.
What makes this diagnosis even more cruel is the fact that Ceri's mum, Jenny, was diagnosed with breast cancer aged 39 years and tragically died 4 years later leaving her husband and 4 young children.
The financial burden of going through cancer treatment is huge. We want to ease this pressure to allow Ceri to focus her energies on her family and her treatment.
We have arranged a series of challenges and invite you to sponsor us, with all donations going directly to Ceri. This money will mean that Ceri can worry less about being unable to earn an income during her treatment and also that she and Dan will be able to make precious memories with their girls, little Jen and Frannie. Challenges planned so far include:
- Kolor Dash, Tredegar Park 20 May DONE!
- triathlon, Llandegfedd reservoir, 27 May DONE!
- Race 4 Life, Stamford, 3 June DONE!
