Story

A group of us (Laurence, Monika, Norbert, Cristina, Maria, Annie, Peter) recently travelled to Dubreka in Guinea, West Africa. Dubreka is a beautiful and small village but is lacking in quality schools for its children. The problem is that many students attend school and leave not being able to read or write as the teachers are frequently absent and the education is poor quality. The adult literacy rate is 30.4% in Guinea.
Abram Diallo (a dance teacher from Guinea) is looking to open a new academic school for local children to give them opportunities and a better start to life than he did. He has already built the walls for 3 classrooms but is looking to secure funding to put on the roof for the first classroom. Eventually, the funding for the remaining 2 roofs will also be needed.
