Story

Northlands Primary School and Nursery are proud of their new Forest School. They have been busy fundraising so they can build an outside classroom.

As Forest School Leader (in training) I have challenged myself to undertake a 50 mile sponsored bike ride with my cycling trainer and friend Nigel West. We are doing this to raise crucial funds to help finish building the much needed outdoor classroom, so we can have a true forest school experience all year round. The classroom will provide a space for the children to learn more about the outdoors, environment and nature.

Forest Schools is an integral part of the schools curriculum and provides experiences some pupils may never have the opportunity to try. These include lighting fires, cutting wood with a bow saw and bill hook, whittling with a pen knife and much much more.

The bike ride will take place on Friday 6th July. We will start at Coombe Country Park, Coventry and will visit Ryton Pools Country Park, Draycote Water and Daventry Country Park (where I did my training) and finishing at Northlands School during the summer fair.

Please give generously and support this fantastic learning opportunity for our pupils.
