Story

My 7 year old son decided to start riding his bike to achieve the goal of 100 miles in a month and wrote this......

During this funny time when there's no going to school except at home, my mummy told me that my friend was doing a challenge to run, walk or cycle 25, 50 or 75 miles so I asked my Mummy why are people are doing a challenge? She told me it's good to have a goal to work towards, have some time outside and you feel good when you can achieve your goal.

Later I told Daddy and said I wanted to do a challenge on my bike and could he come with me on long bike rides. Daddy agreed and asked what my goal distance was. I said I wanted to 100 miles in the month because that's a big number.

My Grandpop heard about my challenge and asked if he could sponsor me and why was I doing the challenge, so I said it was to give my brain a rest when it's tired after doing my school work and get to a goal! Grandpop said it's very good to look after my mental health and wellbeing, so I said I want to do all my miles and give Grandpop's money to people who's brain doesn't get a rest when it's tired and want to get a goal too!

My son reached his 100 miles in May and has now inspired us to launch the new #ForeverAheadChallenge so he can do it again in June, along with some other people who have been inspired by his efforts.

With the unprecedented lock down measures brought in to combat COVID19, the mental health and well-being of so many people has deteriorated and household incomes have been impacted.

Forever Ahead Community is teaming up with The Trussell Trust (Foodbank) to help raising awareness and much needed funds for those who are affected most to ensure that support is on hand.
