Prince’s story - Every so often in this profession you meet a horse who is just so special you can’t help but fall in love with them. Frivolous Prince is one of those guys ❤️ I have never in my career done anything like this but I really want to help him.

He arrived in Jersey four years ago, having been bought by a Jersey syndicate. He always tried his hardest to run fast but was never quite in the money. Following some investigation he was found to have a problem with his back. Overriding DSPs or ‘kissing spines’ is a painful condition where the bones in the thoracic spine rub against each other and cause inflammation. The poor boy had never given any indication of the pain he was in.

He was taken on by a group of people who know and love him (including myself) and following steroid injections into his back he was comfortable for a while and even won a race!

However without surgery Prince will never be completely comfortable. This surgery requires a specialist equine orthopaedic surgeon to fly to the island.

All the drugs etc will be covered by me, but we are raising money to fly a specialist over and also for the rehab costs to get him ready for his forever home. This horse is a kind soul and he deserves to live out his days going for a splash in the sea and being loved and brushed and pampered.

He will never be asked to race again, but please help us get this beautiful boy sorted so we can find a loving home for him for a comfortable retirement.
