Weʼre raising £5,000 to support George in his recovery 🫶🏼

Story

As many of you know, my partner George Peasgood, double paralympic medalist and 2x World Time Trial Champion, was involved in a freak accident whilst we were out on a regular training ride on 1st October, the day before his 27th Birthday.

George suffered a diffuse axonal injury (DAI), one of the most debilitating forms of traumatic brain injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment in Addenbrookes hospital; and we are just at the beginning of this long recovery journey.

We would like to raise money to support the emergency services and the air ambulance charity that attended the scene on the day, as well as various different establishments that are going to be supporting George over the next months and years This page is going to be open throughout George’s recovery, as we know there are going to be many challenges to overcome; and many different charities and people that help us along the way.

With that in mind, I’m excited and terrified to say that the first fundraising activity I shall be undertaking is running the London Marathon in April 2023 with George’s mum, Teresa, who will be completing yet another marathon (a seasoned marathon hero 🦸🏼‍♀️ )

A massive thank you to everyone who is supporting us, and sending messages of hope 🫶🏼

George has now been given a discharge date from Homerton, and is into his last few weeks at the hospital. He will then return home to Loughborough with Frankie for a couple of months before heading to the Matt Hampson Foundation where he will continue his rehab indefinitely. George continues to make marked progress with his high level cognitive rehab and mobility and is spending nights away from the hospital and managing really well. George would like to add a massive heartfelt thanks to everyone for their continued support 🫶🏼
