Our lovely Mum was so scared of dying and the thought of going into a hospice meant the end in her eyes. We desperately tried to keep Mum home but we just couldn't cope and manage her pain. St Christopher's spoke and comforted our Mum and assured her that she could go home once her pain was managed. Mum never did get home, and her choice was to stay at the hospice that looked after her so well, she felt safe and cared for and the wonderful team on Nuffield ward made it possible for us to spend such wonderful quality time with her. Nothing was too much trouble. The fear of hospices went immediately. We can not thank or praise the staff and volunteers enough, we hope this is a little way of giving something back to them for making mums final days the best they could be, given the situation. Forever grateful and forever missed, we are doing this so other people can have the support we had and allow that precious time with those you love. We Love you Mum xx
