We were completely overwhelmed by the generosity shown by you all. Tragically, we could not bring our beloved Michael home but the fund can still help others finding themselves in dire straits, as we did ourselves. The charities have been carefully chosen with Michael in mind: Bloodwise supports people affected by blood cancer. Canine Partners trains assistance dogs to help people with disabilities. We are heartbroken to have to tell you that Mike passed away yesterday evening at around 6pm. There were unexpected complications over Friday night and he passed peacefully with both his parents by his side. He knew how much we all loved and cared for him. The incredible love and kindness that you have all shown has meant the world to his family and they will still use the money raised to bring Mike home. We will post further updates when we can. We have been contacted by a number of people who want to donate over the next few days and, given the incredible level of support shown already, we have therefore decided to increase our target. Mike's life has changed forever, and any extra funding we receive over and above the amount we need to bring him home will be used to help support him in the future.
