Story
On Thursday 8th June 2017, our first child, Theo James Keylock, came into the world. A beautiful, peaceful baby; he never opened his eyes and he stayed sound asleep.
Unexplained, after a perfectly healthy pregnancy: Our hearts, somehow broke in two but also doubled in size on that day and we instantly knew he would change us and our lives forever.
The Snowdrop Appeal allowed us to deliver and spend time with Theo in a peaceful, private environment in Derriford Labour Ward.
Little Things & Co. then provided seamless funeral care, a wonderful support group, a beautiful garden of remembrance at Derriford hospital and ongoing care for bereaved parents and families throughout their grieving journeys.
So, on Wednesday 19th July 2017, after many ideas were thrown about and discussions were had, Dan and I decided we wanted to raise awareness and money for these two incredible charities.
We wanted our son to have a chance to make a mark on people, and on the world. As he wouldn't be able to do it himself, we knew he could only do it through us and our efforts to keep his memory alive.
We wanted to fundraise for one year, until Theo's first birthday and thought that £5,000 may have been a bit adventurous; but we wanted to aim high.
#forTheo was created and the fundraising began. People suddenly felt inspired to do things in our son's memory and the events and sponsorships have been huge.
We are going to fundraise without a limit or target and just see how far we can go... (literally, metaphorically and financially!)
These two charities deserve all the support and fundraising in the world and we are so proud to be raising awareness of their hard work. If our voices and wallets can help just one more family through this hideous life trauma, we will be as happy as we can be.
Twinkle, twinkle, Theo star.
Do you know how loved you are? 🌟💙

6 years agoMonday 2nd October 2017 and we have just crept over the £5,000 mark (with 8 months still to go!!) So, what do we do now? I considered raising the target to £10K (inspired by the 10K run this weekend!) but instead we will not be restrained by a 'target' again. We are going to fundraise for another 8 months and just see how far we can go... (literally, metaphorically and financially!) we already have the next three fundraisers in talks: all will be revealed in due course!
