    Story

Triplets Jaaziel, Jaden and Calliope were born at 25 weeks in June weighing just between 600g and 780g in Dubai where their mother is working. Their parents Cynthia and Jules Desir are now facing a hospital bill of roughly £250.000 even after their insurance paid the maximum of Dh2million (£450,000) They now owe the hospital as the insurance company stopped paying the expenses since August 18 after the coverage limit was reached.

Sadly, Jaden passed away due to renal failure within eight weeks of his birth while his sister Calliope is fighting for her life in the neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a chronic lung disease. The doctors say she will have to be kept in their care, the parents are facing another Dh200,000 on top of Dh700,000 they already owe the hospital. The estimate unpaid bill provided by the hospitals for Calliope and Jaden, who died on August 4, together amount to Dh600,000 as of now. Their family and friends are doing all they can to help but they are struggling to raise the full amount.
“Holding my dead son in my arms was the saddest day of my life but I haven’t even had the time to grieve as I have been running around to arrange the funds. I cannot even sleep or eat, forget about caring for my newborns,” says Cynthia who has knocked on the doors of several hospitals in hopes of getting her daughter transferred to a cheaper facility but to no avail. She has been told that her daughter;s case is too complicated and that she is better off where she is. Calliope developed one of the common complications related to extreme prematurity - chronic lung disease. This has worsened due to raised lung pressure, medically known as pulmonary hypertension. Therefore, she still requires oxygen and continuous intensive care under the neonatal unit.

Please donate whatever you can so that little Calliope can get the best possible care and join Jaaziel at home and the family will have the chance to grieve for little Jaden.

I wish I could give much more, but I just moved and this is really the only little bit I can spare, but God will make a way, please tell the family I am praying with them.
