Story

The Great St Mary’s Bike Trail. Sunday 20th September 2020

St Mary’s parish church in Bloxham is one of the finest church buildings in England and is a focus of much village activity for many people regardless of faith. It is also an old building which requires a lot of maintenance and investment. The Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM) exists to beautify and assist in the maintenance of the Church. On Sunday 20th September Ian Myson & Brendan Hunter of the FOSM committee (plus a few friends) are taking on the challenge of covering 60 miles by bike, visiting 14 local churches of different persuasions all dedicated to St Mary, in order to raise funds for ongoing maintenance and refurbishment.

We’ll be starting from Bloxham, taking in Banbury in the north, Ardley in the East, Charlbury in the South and Chipping Norton in the West before ending up, (hopefully in one piece!), back at St Mary’s, Bloxham before sundown!

If you have any questions contact either Ian (ian_myson@hotmail.com) or Brendan (brendanhunter1@outlook.com)

The full list of villages/towns we will be visiting is as follows:

Bloxham, Adderbury , Souldern , Ardley , North Aston , Duns Tew , Steeple Barton , Glympton , Wootton (Woodstock) , Charlbury , Chipping Norton , Swerford , Broughton and Banbury .
