Story

The “St Mary’s 4000” Bike Trail. Saturday 2nd October 2021

St Mary’s parish church in Bloxham is one of the finest church buildings in England and is a focus of village activity for many of the 4,000 people living in Bloxham, regardless of faith. It is also an old building which requires a lot of maintenance and investment. The Friends of St Mary’s (FOSM) exists to beautify and assist in the maintenance of the Church, and is committed to helping fund the “Building our Future” project to make the church building more usable and practical for the community and the congregation.

On Saturday 2nd October Ian Myson & Brendan Hunter of the FOSM committee (plus a few friends) are taking on the challenge of a bike ride involving 4000 feet of climbing and covering over 100 kilometres (within the day) in order to raise funds for that purpose. We’ll be starting from Bloxham and taking a meandering route out to Snowshill and Broadway, stopping briefly for a cream tea before heading back to Bloxham.
