Hello.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Foss I am a seven year old Brown Cocker Spaniel. My humans are Yvonne & Julie.

In October Yvonne’s Mum (my Grandma) passed away after a long battle with Dementia. For the last 3 years she had lived at Park Manor Care home in Ipswich. Grandma was really happy there and everyone looked after her so well. I liked visiting and showing off my tricks to the other Residents and searching for custard creams under their chairs.

Well, Park Manor are trying to raise money for a wheelchair accessible car so that Residents with mobility problems just like Grandma can be transported by their own friendly staff to hospital appointments and on visits out and I want to help them raise that money. (maybe then I’ll get some digestive biscuits when I visit)

Yvonne and I have decided to walk the whole of the Suffolk coastline in memory of Grandma to raise money for the special wheelchair car. We intend to stick as close to the coast as legally possible. It is over 130 miles as we will have several long rivers to follow up and down as well as along the coast.

We intend to start on Grandma’s Birthday the 17th January 2020 and we think it will take us eight days. Yvonne will walk about 15 miles a day, I will probably run about 45 miles a day as I have to survey the Suffolk pheasant population and pick up litter along the way. Julie will drop us off at the start of each day and pick us up at the end. She has also promised to deliver treats for me at some point every day too.

We will do it whatever the weather brings but I have been told I will not be allowed to swim as it will be too cold.

I would like anyone who would like to join me for any of the sections to come along and keep us company. I would also like to raise lots and lots of money.

This wheelchair accessible car will really make a huge difference to the lives of my Park Manor friends, it is not a huge sum to raise and it would be a lovely tribute to Grandma who was always so kind to everyone.

So I, Foss am looking at you with my brown eyes and instead of your dinner this time I want your money please.
