This page is for donations in memory of the late Jim Gear, a lifelong Foula resident and pillar of the local community. Jim requested any donations would be used for the upkeep of the Foula Kirk. This building was bought by the community to ensure there was a place to hold religious services and community events on the island. The fund raising effort to buy the Kirk in 2021 was one of the final civic minded projects that Jim lent his considerable experience and undeniable tenacity to. Jim was a tireless champion for his local community on Foula and the wider Shetland community, serving as both a local councillor for Shetland West and also community councillor for Foula. An unforgettable presence to all those that met him, he will be sadly missed.
