Story

What can you give to help your neighbours most in need?

Fowey is an incredibly diverse community. There is no doubt it is a beautiful place. However, its people are integral to Fowey’s identity; we are collectively what makes Fowey such a great place and community. At this time when normal life has been disrupted and suspended many will be isolated and the finances of young families and our most vulnerable will be stretched. It is a time for us to support each other and provide for the most in need around us.

This long-term fundraising will go alongside community volunteering. There are young families in our community with parents who have been impacted by the pandemic and changing employment, yet they still need to feed their children. We can all probably think of a neighbour who has been affected.

We already raised funds to support those in need. As we go into winter we are reopening the appeal.

All money raised will go towards those who need it most. Funds will be used for food, necessary household goods and for families who have young children and the many pressures they will experience over the coming months.

The funds will be overseen by Fowey Church and administered through an existing charitable trust (John John), which is for the benefit of those who are most in need in Fowey. Fund administration will be in accordance with the Charity Commission.

A special thanks to all in the community who are already behind this. Also a huge thanks to Fowey Isolation Support and all the volunteers who are the helping hands in our community.

We welcome your generosity!
