I'm raising £7000 to create a commemorative ceramic pavement to celebrate the birth 200 years ago of JP Joule

This year is the 200th anniversary of the birth of James Prescott Joule, the famous physicist. To commemorate this famous scientist from Sale the Friends of Worthington Park are currently trying to raise funds to cover the cost of a piece of artwork. The Friends have commissioned a well known local artist, Gordon Cooke, to create a ceramic pavement near the James Joule bust. This work will include information about Joule and we think it will act as a beautiful focal point for this area of the park.
We are hoping to raise the £7,000 required through bidding for funds and donations. Should we be fortunate enough to exceed our target the money will be used to support future events and activities in the park.
