    Story

Bracknell Forest Council has recently received a huge number of objections to the Foxley Oaks planning application that has been made to build 350 houses south of Foxley Lane and west of Murrell Hill Lane.
As a response to this number of objections, we have been invited to speak, as a community, at an upcoming planning committee meeting. BVPS are therefore fundraising within the local community to raise enough money to put together a detailed professional traffic consultation for the village and highly experienced legal representation to try and ensure this planning application goes no further. We have already raised £3,010.
Any donation you could make to allow us to make this happen as a community would be incredible. It is in our power to help stop this development.
As you may know, this land is GREENFIELD LAND OUTSIDE THE SETTLEMENT BOUNDARY. The views across to open countryside are enjoyed by everyone who uses the fields and Murrell Hill Lane. This part of Binfield is included in the council Landscape strategy which aims to conserve '...the open and rural qualities of the landscape'. It MUST NOT BE ALLOWED to become yet another new housing development.
    The proposed new development would:
-SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE TRAFFIC throughout the village & put EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE LOCAL INFRASTRUCTURE.
-It will INCREASE DANGER to pedestrians, cyclists, runners & people walking to school
    - This, IN CONJUNCTION with the sites currently under development & those planned for Binfield, Warfield and Wokingham, will lead to an UNMANGEABLE TRAFFIC BURDEN FOR BINFIELD RESIDENTS putting extra pressure on Foxley Lane junctions & as a consequence, the Village.
In addition it would act to :
-DESTROY THE RURAL NATURE OF THE VILLAGE IN PARTICULAR FOXLEY LANE AND MURRELL HILL LANE
-DAMAGE THE RURAL SETTING AND CHARACTER of the listed Whitehouse farm cottage and Popes Meadow nature reserve
-HARM PROTECTED SPECIES and URBANISE this quiet area enjoyed by wildlife and people alike
