We met Sama and her family in Summer 2016 in Jericho. She was 6 months old at the time, and had suffered 3rd degree burns as a baby when there was a house fire due to poor electric wiring. Initially, the family moved into another house, but with no source of income, they are struggling to pay the rent and are going to be evicted soon. They are also struggling to buy enough food. We are hoping to raise money for them to rebuild a basic house in Jericho.

Sama is yet to have her reconstructive surgery. The process of organising this has been challenging due to difficulties moving across borders, the standard of healthcare in Palestine and the financial constraints her family are under. I am in contact with some friends in Palestine and we have looked at couple of options, the most realistic is to have her surgery at a hospital in Israel. We are currently waiting to hear from some plastic surgeons about the cost. I will be fundraising for this as soon as we know.
