Story
Hi folks,
Lots of you know I have a mechanical heart valve. This means I need to be on blood thinning medication to prevent clots. To check these drugs are working properly, I need get my blood tested a lot. Something that would make this much easier, and reduce the impact it has on my daily life, is a coagucheck machine. This is a compact finger-prick machine which I can have at home and use myself, instead of going to the doc's.
I'm running a half marathon on 21st October 2017 starting at Stonor park. I've chosen this challenge to show that I refuse to take my health for granted and am determined to live life as the healthy and able person my new valve has given me the opportunity to be.
I need to raise £400 for a coagucheck machine, and a supply of test strips. Any money raised in excess of this amount will be donated to the John Radcliffe Heart Centre.
Thank you for your support
