My name is Francesca, I'm raising money to volunteer in Thessalonki Greece as a dental nurse to treat refugees who have no other access to dental care.

There is a huge need for dental care in refugee camps across Europe. Dentaid provide equipment to the camps and have been given a container to work from. The equipment is basic and conditions are tough. Dental nurses sent over to the island will have the chance to provide pain relieving dental care for people who really need treatment.

Volunteers will triage, treat and provide aftercare for the refugees. The majority of patients will require extractions and some refugees have developed complex dental problems since fleeing their homes. We will also treat children and seek every opportunity to provide oral health promotion and toothbrushing programmes once the refugees' basic dental needs have been met.

The £750 raised will cover car hire, dental and medical supplies and to support Dentaid's ongoing work in Greece.
