Story

I am raising funds for my volunteer trip to Ghana in April 2019, the trip is costing me £2000 and I need to raise all the funds myself to fulfill the trip agreement.

I will be volunteering on the building project. This will be carried out in an unfunded government school. All projects involve working closely with the staff and children.

We will be based in the Volta region in a small fishing community where drumming and dancing are central to the way of life. We will be experiencing life in rural Africa and are hoping our trip will have lasting impact.

So far I have been fundraising by setting up stalls where I sold my own design of Christmas cards, lavender bags, cakes and some of my books and games. I have been doing some baking for friends and gardening as well as car washing and jobs around the house for my mum. I have raised £868 so far but still have £1132 to go, if you can spare anything towards my fee, I would be grateful.

This is a great opportunity for me, but living in the UK these opportunities are not rare in a society where we have a free education. The children of Woe school are not so fortunate and an education is as important to their future as it is mine. I really want to help every child get the start in life they deserve. This is my way of trying to help.
