Story
Frankie was born in London in 1959 and moved to Hertfordshire when he was 2. As he always says, he is a true ‘Cockney Red’ born within the sounds of Bow Bells!
His love for Man United began in 1965. The first game he attended was in 1967 - Man Utd v West Ham - where Man Utd won & George Best became his Idol. From that day he has travelled far and wide to watch his beloved Man Utd and made many lifelong friends along the way. Lots of ‘Cockney Reds’ but also some very good friends from Manchester & surrounding areas, in fact, wherever Frank meets Man Utd supporters they always seem to become friends.
Frank began an apprenticeship in plumbing & central heating when he left school at 16. He has always been a hard worker and has trained many apprentices in St Albans, all whom say he was the best in the trade and always willing to help others out. Unfortunately, due to his accident he will no longer be able to work again.
He has 3 children – who are his world, Hollie, Billy & Kristi. Billy is also a Man Utd fan and all three have been to many a game with Frank.
Frank was also a keen footballer himself, playing for several County Teams and managing St Albans City under 13s, winning tournaments & trophies along the way.
On the 19th February 2022, Frank was on his way to work when his van overturned resulting in a near fatal crash & life changing injuries. He was air lifted to The Royal London where after two major surgeries, stayed for 3 months. He has now been transferred to The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore to continue treatment. The process will be a long & hard one, but he is always hopeful & positive that he will eventually be able to have some normality back in his life. As you can see from the picture when Hollie visited him, even at his lowest, he wanted the Man Utd game on!
We are raising funds to help with the home adaptions, equipment & rehabilitation required upon his upcoming discharge from hospital, to give him the best chance of recovery possible.
