Story
Sound Minds

When I first started working with youth many years ago it was at the Battersea Basement Studios as an Intermittent Treatment facility for youth in trouble with the LAW or "Off the rails" in societal terms.
Years later this is the now the 'SOUND MINDS' project
"Sound Minds is a mental health charity transforming lives through music, film and art. We are a thriving community bound together by creativity and a shared belief in mutual learning and peer support. Sound Minds is also the base of the BaME service user group, Canerows who provide a range of peer support services, including ward visiting, tuition to forensic services, post discharge support and consultation. Also Mama Low’s Kitchen – a user led drop in.The staff team are skilled and experienced in both mental health, music and the arts."
Jill D'Cruz's last wishes included not having flowers but to donate to SOUND MINDS where she was Vice Chair of the committee.
Jill D'Cruz was one of the people instrumental in the lives of young people in Balham through my youth (The Mob Balham), and helped so many of the disaffected and sometimes lost young people with no hope. SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ANYONE!
I would like to help this local 'Charity' as a tribute too many like Jill who were so generous with their own time for others.
Let's hit £1000 and keep the hope alive for future generations.
