    Story

Freddie was born with Spina Bifida, a neural tube defect that happens during the first 30 days of pregnancy. We were told straight away that the likelihood of him walking was slim, and that even if he did walk he would spend most of his life in a wheelchair. He also has hydrocephalus, which is a build up of fluid on his brain due to his spine being open whilst he was developing inside the womb. This led to him having epilepsy and may lead to educational and memory problems as he gets older. The NHS physio have been involved with him since he was born, and despite my constant battles with them, still haven't really helped Freddie progress to the best of his ability in my opinion as his mum.
He plays for a frame football team, which he loves, and their sponsor is a private physio company called Kids Physio Works.
They offered the football team a free assessment at their clinic, which we took them up on. They work in a completely different way to the NHS, and everything they explained made logical sense. They said at the initial assessment that there is no reason why he won't be able to walk with maybe just some inner soles. We know this is the dream, and Freddie will face many battles along the way in his life which may mean we don't get there, but I know they are giving him his best chance at being the best he can be!! For someone to assess him for him, and not as a statistic was the best feeling.
We raised money last year which enabled him to have regular 2 hourly sessions every fortnight until Feb 2018. Unfortunately, then it runs out.
Having seen how much progress Freddie has made by having this intensive physio, obviously we don't want it to stop as he is thriving.
Please help us to help give our boy the best possible chance of an independent life.
On behalf of Freddie and his family we hope you can help us raise as much as possible to give our boy a chance at walking independently. I have set the target as a generic on as this is on going. Thank you!
