Story

Christmas is the time for giving and what better gift than the gift of running ??

With the health of the nation (young and old) a major concern we are taking upon ourselves to organise a calorie blast before Christmas. Its more than just a race though, each runner gets a lucky dip prize, a free Christmas hat, a bespoke edible medal and we have even organised Burnley Food bank donation collections on the day. However, we also like to give the gift of running so each time you donate you will have the option to receive a prize from us too !! (see table below).

As we are a business and have to charge a fee per runner we did not want to exclude runners who are less fortunate this year with money or circumstance. For this reason we are asking the public and the running community to donate. Each £8 (the standard costs of the 2 mile race) or £16 (the unaffiliated cost of the 4 mile race) that is donated we will offer a free place. These will be divided amongst running clubs, schools, colleges, homeless shelters, etc, etc.

To kick start us off Cannonball Events have donated £160 into the pot, this is enough for 20 x 2 mile places or 10 x 4 mile places. As you can see from the table below each donation carries its own reward for your generosity also.

For more details on the race or to enter yourself please go to:

Thanks for taking the time to consider this, if you have donated it would be great to see you race day to cheer on your racer (unknown to them your name , but they will be aware of the generosity).

If you would like your donation to go to a specific group, running club etc, etc then please stipulate who that would be.

Please note we can not use personal information so we will contact the club via official means, but can not contact specific individuals, for example:

You donate and add the comment "Donation to Trawden AC junior section" ...

Please do not place specific names of individuals, we trust the clubs to donate these places as they see fit !!

Merry Xmas when it comes and a happy new year !!
