This is not something I ever expected I would need to do, ask for money to help me. Having worked all my life and paid into the system I expected to get some help when I needed it. I am desperately needing to buy a mobility scooter, just a second hand one. I have tried all sorts of charities etc but to no avail. I just want a bit of freedom to be able to do what most people take for granted each day like taking my dogs for a walk or do some shopping, things I very rarely get to do due to the significant pain and discomfort my condition causes me. I don't like asking for help, in fact my working life has been all about helping others but needs must. I have a condition called fibromyalgia which affects my whole body in some way, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and many other issues which prevent me from living a full life. I managed to continue to work up until I had cancer 3 years ago, the treatment has caused my condition to worsen and I am now unable to work apart from an occasional few hours and rely on benefits to live. Please help if you can.
