I've raised £2500 to buy and distribute 10,000 pairs of free socks and underwear to the homeless. Clean socks and pants are not just for Christmas.

We have had a fantastic response for this campaign. Now our aim is to stock up so that we can offer Socks and Pants everytime someone comes to Guru Nanak Misssion for food throughout 2021.
So our target is now 10,000 Socks and Pants. Please help us. We estimate that we now have enough money to buy 3000 socks and pants.
Norman Galloway Homes is led by Terry Galloway who grew up in care and lived in over 100 places. We work to alleviate homelessness. Terry's experiences and that of his family including his late sister Hazel Galloway is what drives our ambition for change.
Change will only happen if we work together as a community, but until change lets make sure everyone has access to clean underwear
Young Care Leavers are more likely to be vulnerable because Terry thinks they are often looking for love, family and relationships, the things many have not had as children. It gives us confidence that we are right to focus on the transitional pathway of young people into housing and employment because the same thing that makes these people so vulnerable, makes them such fantastic employees. This will help alleviate homelessness.
Over a quarter of the homeless population are from the care system, imagine being homeless and having no clean underwear?
In 2019 Guru Nanak's Mission answered our call to help prepare the pack lunches for #thebigconvoy which was a fun packed day out for foster families, children in care and care leavers.
In total 728 people went on that trip. Without the support of the community it would never have happend. We are asking for your support again because we would like to distribute 1500 pairs of thermal socks and underwear 3 times per week throughout the month of December 2020.
Since 2014 Guru Nanak's Mission has been out on the streets of Nottingham serving food to the homeless. Rain or shine they distribute food 3 times per week to the community or those that cannot afford a hot meal. We thought it would be a good idea to help support them, support our community.
Socks are one of the most popular christmas presents, and having fresh underwear is something most people take for granted. Imagine how you would feel not having clean underwear?
Therefore, we going to support Guru Nanak's Mission Nottingham in their mission and are going to trial giving everyone that receives food FREE SOCKS & FREE UNDERWEAR throughout the month of December. If this proves sucessful and enough people get behind this campaign then we will extend the trial and make sure we keep them stocked up throughout the whole of 2021.
