Story
As the whole world reels from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is obvious just how many millions of people, businesses and places are being negatively impacted upon. Businesses and people's livelihoods in our city of Hull have been affected. We always have our twin city of Freetown on our minds too. Where there is less infrastructure and wealth, there is bound to be more of an impact felt.
We would like to assist our twin city of Freetown in 2 ways:
1) We want to help our twin Freetown by aiding in the funding of materials for masks, the funding of the craftspeople to produce them and the funding of the logistics (the distribution of the pattern, model and instructions to make sure they comply with the standard which has been set) and collection of finished masks.
2) Funds dependent, we also aim to fund the wholesale purchase and distribution of packs of foodstuffs (e.g. onions. cooking oil, rice, tomato puree etc) for street traders to sell - that keeps them in work and their families fed as well as carrying out an essential job to enable the rest of the population to survive. The Freetown Society has the necessary connections to make this work effectively and target those most in need.
