I've raised £1000 to Freetown Flood Appeal

Brief history of Sierra Leone and why we are passionate to help.
As most of you may or may not know, Sierra Leone is no stranger to disastrous events. In 1991 a civil war started. Over 50,000 lives were lost throughout this awful period which lasted till 2002.
As the country recovers, 2014 Sierra Leone declares a state of emergency as a massive outbreak of the Ebola virus struck killing nearly 4000 people.
Now we are seeing another devastating disaster destroying the country's capital, Freetown.
Authorities say at least 300 are feared to have died in a mudslide on the outskirts of the city but the death toll is certain to rise.
Rescue operations continued on Tuesday, a day after victims were trapped under tons of mud as a hillside collapsed.
As a Sierra Leonean living here in the U.K I'm deeply moved by the catastrophic images from Freetown. This tragic and horrific flood has swept away my childhood memories , memories I've kept all these years to remind me of where I've been and how far we've come as a people and now, once again my nation is mourning.
Growing up in Sierra Leone was not easy, life was hard as a child during the 11years of civil war I lost my great grandma, friends and family. Again I'm overwhelmed with sadness as this Flood has taken friends and family.
Today I'm responding with a cry for help for a beloved nation and my people who have nowhere to sleep tonight.
Please help me help Sierra Leone back on her feet
