On August 14 2017 a dreadful flooding caused a landslide to hit Sierra Leone the main capital city of Freetown. It spread rapidly to other parts of Freetown killing more than Four Hundred And Thirty Nine (439) people including men, women, and children. It left many homes devastated. The Government declared a state of public emergency and everybody had to stay indoors.
Many women lost their husbands, many children lost both parents. The youth and young children were in disarray due to the loss of their parent/s, unable to attend school and lacking basic needs.
The aim of this project is to cater for those women and children who have lost their husband or parent and bring them together to build a new homes for them and involve them in Educational Activities, Skills and Training for example:- hair dressing, soap making, gara tie dying, and marketing. To enable them to use the money for their sales and to get the young children back to school and continue their academic activities. This will benefit the many women who lost their husbands and subsequently, their household income.

About the fundraiser
About two years ago my Dad contracted a very serious form of malaria which left him sick for weeks in a coma. The people of Freetown were very supportive to my family during that time and I would like to return the gesture in the wake of their recent tragedy.
