    Story

Freeuse Uniform Hub provides FREE preloved/new school uniforms, PE kits, Bags, Lunch Boxes, Water Bottles, School Shoes, Coats and equipment to children and families across Dorset and Hampshire experiencing financial hardship.

We host free pop up shops across various locations in Dorset and Hampshire. We held 10 incredibly busy and successful events during August 2019 and already have 5 booked for October half term. Unfortunately uniform poverty and poverty for families is not going away!

With community support we have run these events for free with almost zero cost attached to them for us. With the small financial donations we received during those events it enabled us to supply many families who couldn‘t attend the events the items they needed.

We have also supplied ‘Uniform Care Boxes’ to women‘s refuges, families in emergency housing, loan parents and people experiencing extreme difficulties and your donations will enable us to continue doing

We hope to register as a Charity in 2020 but we need to raise £5000 to do this!

The average cost of a full set of uniform including shoes is around £150 per child! Thats for basic items and sometimes the cost can be up to £400+ depending on the school.

Coupled with the fact the average family throws away around 1 Tonne of waste a year, some of that waste includes out grown uniforms and shoes! This event can help remove school uniform from textile waste and landfill AND save people money at the same time!

Let’s face facts, our children frequently outgrow their school uniform and shoes long before the items are worn out and unless you have siblings to pass them down to they become useless. They either get thrown away or taken to the textile recycling bin.. Why not opt to help someone else out?

I’m proposing that all the items kindly donated by you all, including uniform/shoes/school bags/ lunch boxes etc will be connected to new children so they have ‘new’ items for back to school in September 2019!

Back to school can be an incredibly expensive and stressful time for ALL parents/carers and we could really help each other out.

It will be limited to ONE pair of shoes per child and uniform depending on availability.

If you are interested in donating no longer required, preloved school shoes, uniform, bags etc at the end of the school term please inbox the page!

If you are interested in attending the swap shop please register your interest Via our FaceBook page!
