    Story

We are a group of Junior sailors that sail at Frensham Pond Sailing Club, near Farnham. We compete in sailing events all across the UK, all year round and in all conditions. This year 4 teams from our club came through a tough national series to be selected for the Cadet Class GBR World Team 2016. The GBR Team is 10 boats with 20 sailors - 8 of us are from Frensham, a great achievement and a credit to our club which is one of the best in the country for encouraging and developing junior and youth sailing.

    We are:
Isobel Speirs & Emily Speirs 9984
Megan Ferguson & Yasmin Sfaxi 10002
Ryan Wilkinson 8997 (Crew Eliza Jones, Torquay)
Anna Morgan & Jemima Hill 9020
Toni Wilkinson 9985 (Helm Jamie Harris, Bristol)

    About the event:
The 50th Cadet World Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. December 2016. The event is over an 11 day period, in total there will be up to 16 races.

There will be over 10 nations attending, including strong teams from Australia, Germany, Belgium, NL, Poland, Ukraine and our hosts Argentina. It will be an amazing event and chance to compete at the highest level of junior sailing and also to make new friends. The GBR team is competitive and we intend to return with the trophy having had a podium last time.

    Why we need your support:
This year the event is in Argentina, which is great, but does impose huge financial challenges. The cost is about £3600 per sailor with travel, accommodation and getting our boats there proving especially costly. We have to fund all the costs. Note: All supporting family members will be funding their own costs.

Please support us to raise enough money to make our dream a reality and help us get to Argentina to complete for our country and hopefully make our country, our club, friends and family proud.
.....and just maybe lead some of us towards Olympic glory in the future like many previous Cadet sailors.

Have a fantastic, memorable and successful time... club members generously supported me way back in 1990 to compete at this same event in Argentina and the memories are still with me.
