Story

“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but no vision.” ― Helen Keller

I have a vision, a vision of the future, a future that starts now. The future I want to build is the same as every other caring and loving person. A future where we as a society live in peace and harmony, feeling good about our existence and about how we contribute to a better life for our friends, family, our nation, and this world.

I believe the power to achieve our desired future starts with adults who raise empowered children through providing them love and education, and confidence to set goals and work hard to achieve these.

The starting point for providing these opportunities for children is the education gained in the home, where parents act as first teachers and support their children to develop the core knowledge and skills they require to be successful in the world and in all aspects of their lives.

A key component of this is child literacy education, specifically reading. Reading not only promotes a range of skills and access to knowledge, it also connects people and includes them in society, allowing them to be full active members of their communities.

Imagine if you couldn't read. What things would change in your life? We read every day, even the simplest things, like a road sign or shop front advertisement. The power of reading cannot be understated, and the inability to read cannot be accepted. We must provide children this basic human right.

Your support will allow my team to produce a range of learning tools that can be provided along with support for parents to help their children in the home to develop reading skills. The learning system has already been developed and prototypes have been made for a number of the core resources. These prototypes have been used in an education environment for teaching individuals and small groups of children, with huge success. This success is the driving force behind this project.
