Story
The Carholme Children's Centre in Lincoln is setting up a 'Friends of Carholme Children's Centre' group and the first project will be the renovation of the play park next to St. Faith's Church of England Infant School.
This is quite a task and we need to raise money to bring the play park back into use for young, local children to enjoy and have fun.
That's why, to kickstart the fundraising, I am running the Marathon du Medoc, near Bordeaux, on 9 September 2017 and am looking for sponsorship. A marathon is 26.2 miles so it is quite a challenge!
Every contribution, big or small, is important for this really worthwhile local project.

7 years agoTomorrow, Saturday, I am running the Marathon du Medoc near Bordeaux along with 10,000 other runners from a total of 74 countries. As you know I'm fundraising to pay for the rebuilding of the play area at the Sure Start Children's Centre in the West End of Lincoln. Can I thank everyone for the generosity shown in supporting this worthwhile cause which so far has meant we have raised £550 with more promised. I will let you know how I got on but it may be a while! Robert

I'm a councillor in the West End who was part of the project to get the play area going about 20 years ago. Like lots of people, I realise its importance and so we need to get it back into use for the local kids so they can have some fun! For this we need some money...
