Help Immigrant Students Find Maths and Science Tutors Who Speak Their Language
Support the Friendship Database — connecting families with tutors fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.
In today’s world of constant migration, thousands of children are starting new lives in countries where they don’t yet speak the local language. For many Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking families, this creates a painful gap: children who were once confident learners suddenly struggle to keep up in maths, physics, chemistry, biology, and geography — simply because they can’t yet understand their teachers.
The Friendship Database was created to bridge that gap.
It’s a free, non-profit platform that connects families with qualified online tutors — all fluent in Russian and Ukrainian — who can explain complex subjects clearly and help children thrive academically, no matter where they live.
Why It Matters
It takes an average of five years for a child to develop full academic proficiency in a new language. That’s five years of missed opportunities, lost confidence, and widening gaps in learning.
But with the help of tutors who speak their native language, children can keep up with their peers — and keep believing in themselves.
Our Mission
The Friendship Database exists purely for humanitarian and educational purposes. We provide direct contact information for tutors; we do not charge families or teachers.
But to reach more families — across Europe, North America, and beyond — we need your help.
Your donation will help:
Promote the Friendship Database internationally
Reach more Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking families in need
Maintain and expand the platform so it remains free and accessible
No child should fall behind because of where they were born — or what’s happening in the world. Together, we can give every child the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.
Donate today and help us bring learning without borders to life.
