I've raised £2000 to help fund a casualty/emergency room at Sengerema District Hospital in rural Tanzania.

Sengerema District Hospital is located in rural Tanzania to serve a population of over half a million but at the moment it does not have a properly functioning casualty/emergency room. On a daily basis up to 50 patients could be admitted through a small room with only 3 beds, under staffing issues and poor infrastructure. All this combined put the patients at risk.
The Friends Of Sengerema Foundation, founded by dutch medical students, aim is to financially support the hospital in specific projects that improve the quality of care and level of education of local staff. In the past they built a neonatal intensive care unit, made running water possible and supported the hospital in a lot of equipment.
So this is where I come in. Next month I have been given the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro along with a group of my friends and partner. It will be a fantastic experience no doubt but I really feel that it shouldn't be just me who gains something from my challenge, I'd love to give something back to the country as well. Now I currently work for the NHS in the UK and so on a daily basis get to see the value of a better funded, more developed healthcare system and the impact it can have on people. So through my partner who is currently living and working out in Tanzania I got in touch with Rian, a medical doctor currently working in Sengerema Hospital. She talked me through the project they want to run there to develop the casualty/emergency department where patients can benefit from rapid diagnosis and early interventions and all they need to get started is £2000 (this will be part of a larger €27,000 project run by Friends Of Sengerema Foundation). It sounded like the perfect project for me to walk for it's in line with my beliefs on improving healthcare and the target is smaller so may be more achievable but will have a big impact on a large number of people at the same time.
So please please give what you can.
We need your pennies for our pain so hopefully we can help ease someone else's.
