Story
The Greig Hall in Alcester was built in the 1950s by local businessman David Greig in memory of his wife Hannah Susan Greig and donated to the town for the people and youth of Alcester. For many years it was an important part of community life in Alcester, until It was closed down by the then trustees in 2011. Sadly it was very neglected and over the years of closure, it has incurred even more detorioration. After a long legal battle, the Hall has recently been taken over Stratford upon Avon District Council. Friends of the Greig Hall are a group of local people who have been working over the past two years to raise in excess of £80k. It is planned to form a community committee to run and manage the Hall and return it to use for the people of Alcester as a community and arts centre. We urgently require to raise the funding to allow us to replace the badly damaged windows and doors, making the building safe and secure and allowing the much needed restoration and refurbishment to start as soon as possible.

3 years agoTHANKS TO AN AMAZING RESPONSE TO OUR PREVIOUS APPEAL YOU HAVE RAISED £2091, which means we have been able to dramatically reduce our target. Sincerest Thanks to all our Donors. However we still need more donations please. We are extremely grateful to local people and groups who are fundraising and any donations will obviously help with our latest target.
