Weʼve raised £3,770 to fund my World Challenge trip to Nicaragua, helping to rebuild a school. support me as i cycle 250 miles from Bristol to Land's End.

Story
In July 2018, i'm hoping to travel to Nicaragua with World Challenge for 3 weeks to eat, sleep and live with the local communities, and to help do up a local school. on the way we will be trekking over dramatic landscapes and absorbing the culture of central america, along with painting doors, laying bricks and teaching locals english. Nicaragua is a poor country, especially compared to my comfortable lifestyle in London, therefore i am extremely passionate about trying to help in any way I can. to raise this sum of money, my mum and I will be cycling an exhausting 250 miles from Bristol to Land's End, (imagine the bickering..), bearing in mind that neither of us are elite cyclists and there are plenty of hills on the way. i'm hoping to raise my target of £3500, but if i don't i will make up the short fall with tough-mudder challenges, abseils and a 24-hour rowathons(!) with 4 mates. any amount of money is gratefully received; we are gonna need some incentive to get on those bikes..! please sponsor us, and help me tackle this once-in-a-lifetime expedition.

6 years agoTODAY IS THE DAY!! in fact.. in 4 hours time, i'll be on the plane to HONG KONG (and then another connecting to Pnom Phen). This is another opportunity for me to just PRAISE you guys so much i literally wouldn't be catching the flight without your donations <3 i hope you all have a smashing summer, see you in 3.5 weeks time! LOVE YOU ALL

6 years agoi will say it again- thank you so much for supporting me and making this possible. of course, i am disappointed that Nicaragua didn't work out this time, but it will still be a life-changing trip all the same. all we can do now is send our thoughts out to the people in nicaragua and hope that the civil unrest eases.

6 years agoAs i am sure some of you know, there is currently a civil war going on in Nicaragua- the other week, 127 people were killed in a protest, and it is escalating further. therefore, the foreign office and world challenge made the executive decision to move our trip to Thailand and Cambodia, where we will spend 3 weeks volunteering as english teachers at a school, trekking through jungles and visiting some of the most beautiful temples in the world- safe to say, it will still be a great adventure.
