I am Rofiat Mustafa and I am raising money on behalf of Feed The Vulnerable Families In Nigeria Foundation, a Nigeria–based nonprofit organization that has over 1800 volunteers nationwide.

The organization's vision is, they envision a community where everyone has access to good quality, nutritious food, understands the consequences of hunger and poor nutrition and is committed to creating a stronger, healthier Nigeria.

Their mission since inception is to work round the clock to eliminate hunger, improve the health and well-being of struggling individuals within Nigeria communities through access to healthy and nutritious foods, they play a significant role in education of orphans, wards with struggling single parents, provision of water in communities where there is drought, and quick disaster responses. These organization fill many niches and give special emphasis to capacity building, economic empowerment, education and improving child and women health.

The organization plays significant roles in six Social Developmental Goals as drawn by the United Nations and they are as listed below:

- No Poverty (SDG 1)

- Zero Hunger (SDG 2)

- Good health and well-being (SDG 3)

- Quality Education (SDG 4)

- Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6)

- Sustainable Cities & Communities (SDG 11)

In sha Allah, for Ramadan 2023, our priority list is provision of meals to the displaced families affected by insecurity, natural disasters, and poverty.

We would also be distributing daily cooked meals to orphans, widows, inmates, weak but fasting seniors, individuals at leprosariums, kids with disabilities, to mention but few

During our pre-Ramadan inspections, we visited 22 IDP camps and 43 rehabilitation centers across the country and the situation in these places are pathetic. Also on our list during this month are our un-housed neighbors, patients in public hospitals, individuals with special needs, individuals at rehabilitation centers, and families struggling to feed themselves and their families.

Aside the above-mentioned, our plan is to feed our health but struggling brothers and sisters fasting during the holy month. We would in the 32 state we have our volunteers be providing 150 cooked iftar meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Each iftar meal will consist of dates, yoghurt drink, water, meat or chicken & rice, we would have varieties of meal during the holy month, and each will costs N1,000 or $1.75. For just $17.5, you can provide 10 hot meals to help feed the fasting this Ramadan and partake in the immense reward. This Appeal is Zakat Applicable.

- Ramadan Food Parcel: Each Ramadan Food Pack contains an Iftar Box (20kg) & a Sahoor Box (11kg), totalling 31kg and will costs just $55. This will support a family for fifteen days during the month of Ramadan. This Appeal is Zakat Applicable;

- All In One - Family Support Pack: Each Family Support Pack will contain: two Ramadan Food Pack [consisting of a 2 x 11kg Sahoor Food Box & a 2 x 20kg Iftar Food Box] costing $110; This we believe should take care of a family of 6 from the first day of Ramadan till the last day of the holy month.

- The Prophet ﷺ said,“I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,” putting his index and middle fingers together

FTVF needs your help to raise money to distribute Eid-ul-Fitr gifts to orphans, widows, families in displaced camps, individuals with disabilities and rehabilitation centers across Nigeria.

We are happily accepting all donations including but not limited to Zakat, Sadaqat, Fitrat and Khairat.

- Fitrana / Zakat ul Fitr: This is a religiously obligatory donation of charity paid by Muslims at the end of the holy month of Ramadan and must be donated before the Eid prayer. At a cost of just $10 per person or N15,600, make sure to fulfil your responsibility with us and help bring a smile to someone during Eid-il-Fitr.

Don’t wait until its too late; it must be donated anytime before Eid-il-Fitri prayer, so donate today for you and your family members;

- Fidyah / Kaffarah:

If Ramadan fasts are missed through ill health or pregnancy, which cannot be made up afterwards for legitimate reasons, Fidyah becomes payable, by paying for daily meals for the needy.

If Ramadan fasts are broken without legitimate reasons, and the compensatory two months of fasting is not possible, then Kaffarah is payable, equivalent to 60 days of meals.
