Due to a breakdown in marriage and domestic abuse, my friend had become homeless for 6 months and as a result of having no job, no savings, and no legal representation, her ex has won custody of their child. After having time off work to raise her child at home before leaving her ex, her CV has had an 8 year gap and so, finding a job has been difficult, although she has been successful in getting part time work for a few hours a week. Low income and lack of appropriate accommodation has meant her case to have her child is also more difficult.

The money we raise will go towards the final hearing, to get decent representation and to give my friend the best chance of getting her daughter back and some more of what she has lost. The legal costs are £1000 plus vat. The extra £500 is to help ease their cash flow which is limited due the difficulty of finding full time employment.
