Story
Our 5 month old French bulldog Frank was diagnosed with a slight heart murmur which quickly turned into severe heart disease within a few months. Our choices were to either leave him to it and see how long we get with him, open heart surgery or a new experimental surgery only performed on 15 dogs ever. We agreed to go ahead with the experimental surgery as it held the lowest risk. Frank had recently had the procedure however it was unsuccessful due to complications, they have advised they can attempt this a second time but slightly changing the procedure. They have advised that if were weren’t to try this again we would only have a few weeks left with him. The insurance company refused to allow us to claim as his heart murmur was there from birth so we have had to pay for the procedures. Due to needing a second attempt of this surgery his vet bills have increased which we weren’t prepared for.
