Story

Our Son is Autistic and ADHD, and also as huge Sensory and Anxiety issues which has a huge impact on his daily life making it extremely difficult for him to participate in daily activities. This has cause a great deal of frustration for him now that he is now approaching puberty. This has result to very distressing Behaviour issues for him as he has no sense of danger and does not understand his strength. He find daily transition to School a very stressful event as he will either run off down the road into on going traffic although we try to restrain him he will often get away as he is getting stronger, or he run into other peoples houses or throw himself down onto the pavement or either place objects into his mouth at times. School is quite a drive away 72 miles back and forth and he is finding the transitioning extremely difficult, at times I have to travel with him even though the Escort is present.

When our son comes home from School he expresses his frustration with increased Hyperactivitness and unable to settle with constant Repetitivness, it is very exhausting although we try very much to engage with him and involve him in whatever we do, but it is never enough. Family & friends are not next door, which is a problem. He having serious sleeping problems therefore we never know what time we will go to bed, often late and up before dawn. This is taking a toll on us. Our son really needs a calm and relaxing environment a place were he can go apart from his bedroom, a place away from any other distractions where he can use his creativity abilities such as Art and the Computer which he loves so much, especially when he arrives home from School. Having a Sensory room/Study room will be a huge therapy for him. This environment would create an haven for him in to have some privacy and Help Greatly especially during the evening when the Behaviour issues are at the peak in order to have a safe space to cool off. .
